We are thrilled to announce that Inspired has won a grant from the We Wear Heritage fund managed by CVS Brent. The funds will support our Iranian Women's Traditional Garb in Brent project.

This project celebrates the diverse traditional outfits worn by Iranian women in different regions. We want to showcase Iran's rich and diverse cultural heritage. Each region in Iran has its unique style, colour, and pattern, reflecting that particular area's rich history and tradition. We have members in the Brent community who know the stories and histories of these garments.

The project aims to showcase Iran's rich cultural heritage through crafting and storytelling while fostering cross-cultural understanding in the Brent community.

Participants, including volunteers and community members, will collaborate to create authentic garments and share their stories. This will culminate in community events featuring performances and exhibitions. The project will engage a wide audience, including young people and residents who may not have previously connected with heritage activities.

We will use these garments in various community gatherings and celebrations to promote cross-cultural understanding and appreciation of women’s traditional outfits through performances that display the unique craftsmanship and symbolism embedded in these garments.

When the garments are made, we will have a gathering with dinner to showcase them and will also provide them to the Brent Museum so that more residents can see them. The event is set to take place in September this year.
